This sculpture is 'in progress'.
The theme for the artwork is rugby.
It has been designed to be cast in glass. On the right are two photos showing how the sculpture will look in the final glass state.
The artwork is first modelled in wax.
The armatures and fixings are needed because the wax will not support the weight of the lifted figures.
The completed sculpture will be taken to the foundry to be moulded, cast and assembled.
Photographs of players are used to help fix compositional movements and characters in the artwork.
